Jurgen Klopp is expected to have Kolo Toure and Mamadou Sakho available to man his injury ravaged defence, despite the pair suffering recent knocks.
The Liverpool boss has indicated that Lucas Leiva remains his only other alternative in central defence following recent setbacks for both Martin Skrtel and Dejan Lovren.
Elsewhere at the back, Nathaniel Clyne and Alberto Moreno look certain starters in the full-back positions. In midfield, Emre Can is likely to start alongside Lucas in the double pivot should the Brazilian be spared defensive duties.
Jordan Henderson could also return to contention in the engine room, with Klopp sounding optimistic on his return from a heel problem.
That could see James Milner considered for a role in the attacking midfield three, with Roberto Firmino, Adam Lallana and Jordan Ibe also pushing for starts. Should Firmino be deployed in a deeper role, Christian Benteke looks a likely starter as the central striker, despite playing the full 90 minutes in the FA Cup tie at Exeter.
Daniel Sturrridge (hamstring) is unlikely to feature, while Joe Gomez, Skrtel, Lovren, Philippe Coutinho and Danny Ings remain sidelined.
The Reds have acquired Steven Caulker on loan from QPR, with the centre-half registered in time to feature against the Gunners if selected.
