Arsenal have completed the signing of Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka, according to reports.
The Swiss international has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates in the last couple of weeks and his move could be made official in the coming days.
Arsenal are said to have agreed a fee with Monchengladbach for the midfielder which allowed the player to travel to London on Friday to complete his move.
According to Football expert Emanuele Giulianelli, via the Daily Star, Xhaka has now completed his medical at Arsenal and is expected to sign on the dotted line this weekend.
The report added that Arsenal agreed a £26m deal with Gladbach which could rise to £31m based on performance related add ons.
The move to Arsenal would be a dream come true for the midfielder as he has stressed on previous occasions that he dreams of a move to the Premier League.
“I think everybody has a dream,” he said. “Everybody has a childhood dream and that’s my childhood dream. If my dream comes true, it remains to be seen. At the moment I cannot say how realistic it is.”
Xhaka would likely fill in the void created by the exit of Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini in the first team. Welcome Granit!
