Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on bolstering his side in the January transfer window for the second half of the 2015/2016 season.
An official from Conrinthians has confirmed that Arsenal has made an enquiry for Brazil forward Alexandre Pato.
The Gunners boss has met with Corinthians football director to discuss the availability of Alexandre Pato.
Arsenal wants to bring in players in the January transfer window after injuries to their key men and Pato is on Arsene Wenger’s wish list.
The striker who turned 26 in September has declared that he is interested in returning to Europe after spending the last 2 years in Brazil.
A move to Arsenal is well on the cards after Arsene Wenger was seen with Corinthians director of football.
Arsene wenger has discussed the future of Pato with former Arsenal player Edu Gasper who is now the director of football at Corinthians.
Edu stated: ‘I wasn’t there to tout him around but if people ask about him, I’m going to answer,’ said the former Arsenal midfielder.
‘I talked and they asked questions – not just about him, but about a few of our players. They know them well.
‘I had lunch with Arsene Wenger and he asked about [Pato] and about others.
Pato has been linked with a move to Tottenham but Arsene Wenger has taken a massive step to sign the striker ahead of his rival.
Manchester United were also interested in the 26 year old last summer but the Old Trafford club failed with a deadline day bid for the striker.
Pato has scored 26 times this season and is set for a January transfer move after joining Corinthians for £10million in 2013.
