Italian Giants Set To Beat Arsenal To Sign This Prolific Star Target In The Summer

Italian giants Juventus have moved into pole position in the race to sign Paris Saint-Germain striker Edison Cavani.  The Uruguayan is believed to be high on Arsene Wenger’s wishlist with the gaffer keen to recruit a top notch centre forward at the Emirates.

Tuttosport via talkSPORT reports that the Juventus are poised to beat the Arsenal and Manchester United with an ambitious swoop for Cavani come the summer with Turin boss Massimo Allegri a big fan of the forward.

Reports have suggested the striker has grown unhappy in Paris. The striker despite being in his third season with Paris Saint-Germain has had to make do with a wide role to accommodate Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the side.

Speaking to the media, PSG manager Blanc confirmed Cavani’s frustrations saying: “There is a problem with Cavani’s behaviour but my job is to think of the entire squad as a collective.

“We did hold a staff meeting and among the various issues we discussed were Cavani and his complaints.

“The desires of the individual can’t affect the rest of the team. I believe that he can score here but I understand if he wants to consider other career opportunities.”

The Gunners were interested in taking him immediately in January but PSG rebuffed all offers as they were not prepared to let him leave mid way through the season due to unavailability of quality replacements. In a funny twist of fate, should the striker head for Turin, it will also confirm the availability of another Arsenal target in Juventus striker Alvaro Morata

Cavani, 28,who joined PSG from Napoli for a fee believed to be around €64.5 million in 2013 has gone on to score 69 times for the French side despite having to play out wide.
