Arsenal youngster Alex Iwobi could push a number of first team players out of the club, Ian Wright believes.

The youngster has been with the first team for majority of the season but made his first Premier League start against Everton on Saturday and scored his first goal for the club.

And Ian Wright believes should the youngster continue to perform like he did on Saturday, the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Theo Walcott could be pushed out of the club.

Iwobi’s link up play with Welbeck on Saturday received plenty of plaudits and the Pundit also went further to claim Giroud should fear for his first team place due to Welbeck’s performance.

“Iwobi is going to come in and make them think about themselves,” Wright told BT Sport, as quoted by London24.

“It leaves them having a real good think about themselves and it has not come too soon.

“I’m delighted, I think Arsenal have needed that for many years – some people coming through into the squad who are going to put pressure on players that are not being pushed hard enough to achieve.

“That’s why Arsenal get the amount of stick that they do, because there are players who are too comfortable.

“Someone like Giroud will be looking over his shoulder.  When you saw them arrive he had a bit of a sulk on and why wouldn’t you? He knows that Danny Welbeck has come back and made quite an impression.”

Chamberlain is being linked with a move away from Arsenal with as many as five clubs reportedly interested in signing him while Walcott is reportedly a target of West Ham and Giroud a target of Juventus.
