Julian Draxler’s agent has revealed the midfielder will not leave Paris Saint Germain this summer amid reports linking him with a move to the Premier League.
Reports in France are linking Draxler with a move away from the Emirates, following the arrival of Neymar. It’s being claimed that the French club has to sell some of its players in order to comply with the financial fair play rules after spending €222m on Neymar.
Arsenal and Liverpool were quickly linked with the midfielder but Draxler’s agent Roger Witterman has refuted those claims, insisting the midfielder will stay at PSG beyond the summer transfer window.
“Draxler will stay and will not be sold this summer,” Witterman told Bild, reports Daily Cannon.
“Paris is building a group with the best players in the world at every post, and Julian is one of them and he wants to continue to be part of it.”
Yesterday, reports claimed Draxler could be on his way to Arsenal for £32m, despite joining the club just six months ago.
The midfielder made 24 appearances for PSG last season and scored 10 goals in the process. He also won the best player of the just concluded Confederations Cup, making him one of Europe’s most talented midfielders.
One can’t really say if Arsenal are interested in signing him but we know he has been on the club’s radar for quite sometime as Wenger is a big admirer of the midfielder since 2014.
