Olivier Giroud is desperate to get back into Wenger’s starting xi as he is becoming frustrated on the bench.
The striker who is yet to start a Premier League game for Arsenal this season came off the bench to help secure a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford last weekend. It was not the first time he was making such an important impact as a substitute and one can say he has certainly done enough to warrant a start.
The striker has been made to settle for a place on the bench because of Sanchez’s superb form as a centre forward but with the Chilean suffering an hamstring scare last week, Wenger could hand Giroud his first league start sooner rather than later.
However, Giroud is not prepared to wait for too long, he has admitted his frustration being on the bench and wants to get back into the starting xi as soon as possible.
“It is frustrating to be on the bench, watching your teammates on the pitch. I would like to play more in the coming weeks, that is for sure,” Giroud told SFR sport, after the game against Manchester United.
Giroud will be hoping his impact last weekend will convince Wenger to hand him his first league start when we host AFC Bournemouth. However, if Wenger decides to stick with his current starting xi, the striker will be hoping to play a key role off the bench again like he has done in the last couple of weeks.
