It happened on the right and is seemingly going to on left-an out of favour fullback weighing up a move away from the Emirates.
Debuchy is eager to move before the window shuts on Monday night having been displaced on the right hand side of defence, with Kieran Gibbs suffering a similar fate at left back. The England international has been reported to be considering leaving the Gunners in a bid to secure more regular playing time.
Nacho Monreal is now Wenger’s undisputed first-choice at left-back having displaced Gibbs in the first team during the course of last season, leaving Gibbs with a reduced role on the bench having started just twice in the Premier League this season and making just five appearances across all competitions this season.
The Daily Star reports that the defender is now contemplating about making a move away from the Emirates. The paper goes on to say that unlike Debuchy he is willing to wait till the end of the season before assessing his options properly. Wenger however remains keen to keep the defender and has promised him more game time ahead of the Euro championship in June “Gibbs went through a period that was difficult for him, now he is back to full power, full commitment. He is very fit, he will get games. He is quality player, again it is competition. I understand players have targets of making squads for the Euros, but first and most important is the club. To be at the Euros is a consequence of what you do for the club.”
