After making incredible signings in the summer and a few others to seal across the window, Arsenal want to ensure they have the financial strength to seal off those potential deals and more in the summer as they prepare to cash in on defender Shkodran Mustafi.
Via the Standard, the Gunners are prepared to offload Mustafi after a disappointing spell at the club.
They have also been touted to let go of some other first team players this summer, in order to create room for newly arriving summer acquisitions.
Lucas Pérez is expected to leave the club together with Mustafi, a move intended to make space available for the likes of talented sensation Lucas Torreira and prospect Bernd Leo.
According to allarsenal, newly appointed head of recruitment Sven Mislintat is unimpressed with Mustafi and currently has doubts over his stay at the Emirates. In addition, it is believed he may include Lucas in his “available” list this summer.
The pair were acquired for over £50 million and their sale to suitors is believed to be in the region of £25 million. This will definitely increase Unai Emery’s transfer funds and help Arsenal negotiate better in this window if they are snatched up early by interested outfits.
