Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on bolstering his side in the January transfer window for the second half of the 2015/2016 season.
Former Arsenal player and current scout Luis Boa Morte has confirmed that Arsenal are interested in signing Porto midfield star Danilo Pereira.
Arsenal are desperately in search of a defensive midfielder to replace the injured Francis Coquelin, and have been linked to a number of Midfielders including Porto wonder-kid Ruben Neves, with Arsenal even sending scouts to watch quite a number of Porto’s games, but it has now been confirmed that it’s not Ruben Neves that Arsenal have been going to watch as widely thought, but fellow midfielder Danilo Pereira.
In an interview with O jogo, Boa Morte revealed ‘I went to Madeira, but not to watch Neves. He’s an 8, not a 6,’
He also revealed that Pereiera has been a long term target
“I’ve watched Danilo since he was 15/16 years at Benfica. His development has been impressive, but I wasn’t surprised by it.’
‘Danilo has quality for a different challenge, he just need to be given the opportunity. Things are already easy for him at FCP.”
It is believed that Porto would be more open to a negotiation for him than for Neves.
