Real Madrid have joined the race to sign Arsenal target N’Golo Kante, according to reports.
Arsenal have been linked with a move for the French midfielder all summer but would now face competition from Real Madrid and Chelsea.
According to Marca via the Daily Star, Real Madrid will now make a move to sign Kante as Zinedine Zidane has ordered the Spanish club to sign his compatriot.
It is believed Zidane has identified the defensive midfield position as an area to strengthen and Kante is his top target.
According to Standard Sport, Chelsea will also open negotiations with Leicester City over signing Kante.
Arsene Wenger is a fan of Kante and it is believed the French man is preparing a move for the midfielder after the Euro 2016 competition.
Despite completing the signing of Granit Xhaka already, Wenger believes Kante would improve any squad in the world including Arsenal and won’t fail to make a move for the midfielder should the opportunity arise.
However, he will now have to face serious competition from Real Madrid and Chelsea if he is to be successful in his attempts to sign the France international.
Kante is expected to cost as low as £20m as the midfielder has a release clause of around that amount in his contract at Leicester City.
