Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on bolstering his side in the January transfer window for the second half of the 2015/2016 season.
Arsenal are reportedly keeping tabs on impressive Bordeaux midfielder Henri Salvet ahead of the January transfer window, he can move for just £3.5 Million.
The 25 years old has caught the eye in Ligue 1 this season after moving from wide to play centrally and could be an ideal solution to the Gunners injury woes in that area.
Arsenal’s London rivals; Tottenham Hotspur are recently linked with Salvet, while a host of other English Premier League scouts from Everton, Swansea, Aston Villa and Bournemouth were present as he played against Liverpool in the Europa League.
Arsenal are said to be eyeing a move for Salvet and being relatively cheap; the Gunners would see him as a viable replacement for the injured Francis Coquelin. The Gunners have had players move from the French league to the Premier league with contrasting fortunes.
Wiltord, Marouane Chamakh, Olivier Giroud have all come to the Emirates from the French Ligue 1 and all did exceptionally well for the Gunners. Wenger is a specialist in grooming and moulding players to become world beaters.
Thierry Henry was an unknown entity while a youngster with Juventus before Wenger showed faith in him by bringing him to England. So Salvet is in safe hands if he eventually signs for the Gunners.
