Liverpool Face Arsenal Transfer Battle Over 6 Goals In 7 Games £18M Star.

Young Brazilian star, Talisca, has become the latest subject to be attracting the pursuit of two of Englands biggest clubs, Liverpool and Arsenal.

The Benfica striker has made the best start by any foreign player to the Portuguese League, with 6 goals in 7 games, creating a scramble amongst top clubs for his signature. Talisca has been one of the sensations of the early season, despite this just being his debut season, having joined from home club Bahia in July. He wasted no time in endearing himself to the Benfica faithful, scoring on his debut.

Though talk of a possible transfer is not feasilble for now, monitoring has been kicked-off in earnest, with scouts from both rivals assigned to watch the youngster regularly. They were on hand to see Talisca score in a 4 – 0 victory over Arouca last Sunday. Benfica got him for just about £3million, but have smartly added a whooping £18million release clause in his contract. The scouts have also seen 4 of the last 7 Benfica games and are believed to have been impressed by what they’ve seen of him.

Talisca, born Anderson Souza Conciecao, is mainly an Attacking midfielder. His 6ft 2′ frame has been deployed by Jorge Jesus at the Estadio da Luz as a striker to good effect, and if he continues at this rate, a talk of a move next summer may begin to make the rounds. He is currently a member of the Brasil U-20s but could soon make the step up to the Selecao, with Dunga believed to have been impressed by his prodigious displays.

Wenger would probably keep watching the youngster from a distance, rather than make any move. The likes of Chuba Akpom and Benik Afobe will be making cases for thier chances in the team next season, while Yaya Sanogo would want to have as say in Welbeck being the new star for of the future Arsenal attack. There’s definitely no shortage of hot young prospects coming through from the Arsenal academy, and while Talisca is surely one to keep a continuous eye on, there may not be any realistic chance of a move in any of the coming windows.
