Liverpool have continued to sway their way into every of Arsenal’s transfer business. With latest report according to Metro suggesting that Arsenal could be blown out of the water with Liverpool’s big money offer for Serie A star.
Liverpool are set to manoeuvre Arsenal for the signing of Lazio hot-shot, Keita Balde Diao, according to reports.
The 19 year old forward has been on the radar of both clubs for sometime having not been considered as frequently as he would have liked for first team action at the Stadio Olimpico. The highly-rated wonderkid is understood to be growing frustrated by the lack of first team opportunities with the Italian club and is ready for a new challenge.
Diao agent, Ulisse Savini, has revealed that his client is currently contemplating his future at the Stadio Olimpico, and has hinted that he could be open to a move away from Rome.
He said: “It’s premature to start having conversations like this after only three games, but if he does end up losing the next few months we will have to re-think things.”
Diao attracted interest from a host of Europe’s top clubs this summer but Lazio were unwilling to let the youngster leave the club for the offers being made. Liverpool are now ready to offer a deal closer to the £15m asking price first asked by Lazio to help beat their Premier League rivals, Arsenal, to the signing.
The youngster has appeared to be eager for more first team action, and his willingness to leave the Stadio Olimpico will be a huge boost to Arsenal and Liverpool, who are both keen to strengthen their attacking options in January. Both clubs have been at what could be described as a transfer clash over the summer, being linked with same players.
The circumstance surrounding Alexis move to Arsenal, apparently choosing London over Merseyside, has already been over-discussed, while the time it has taken for Balotelli to get into gear at Anfield has left most Gooners feeling Wenger did the right thing.
Liverpool now seems to be gaining the edge over Arsenal in the race to sign highly rated young talents, as they have also been reported to be favourites to land Dele Alli, whose prodigious promise has drawn a likening with four-time World player of the Year, Lionel Messi. This will be an addition to their summer acquisitions in the attacking front, joining Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert, Lazar Markovic and the already mentioned Mario Balotelli.
Diao began his youth development at Barcelona but decided against rejoining the club after a successful loan deal at a satellite club, UE Cornella, after attracting interest from top European clubs.
