Liverpool vs Arsenal: Player Ratings, MOTM, FOTM.

Not much to praise in any department today, from defence to attack. A generally disappointing performance by the team in general, but moreso by a couple of players.

Wojciech Szczesny: 7 (MOTM)
Kept us in the game early after denying Markovic and pulled off a point blank one from Borini. Only flaw was the misjudged collision with Sterling. His best game of the season so far, and won’t be bothered by Ospina’s return.

Calum Chambers: 5
Tough evening against players who show quick feet, even if it wasn’t quite a repeat of the Montero ‘mare. Needs to sort out his feet with regards ball control and has not managed a consistent run as a right back.

Mattieu Debuchy: 6
Was as good as you could expect a right-back playing only for the second time in center half should be. Determined leap to get the crucial equalizer before half time, his first in Arsenal colours.

Per Mertesacker: 6
A decent performance from the captain, even if it should have been his job watching the zone where Skrtel had stationed before the corner. Might need Koscielny back soon.

Kieran Gibbs: 6
One of the more consistent in the team and played a key role in surging forward for Giroud’s goal.

Mattieu Flamini: 5
When do we get someone we can trust?  Even Diaby would be really helpful

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain: 4 (FOTM)
Did not do anything right today. Literally put every foot wrong and should be told that midfielders do more of pass than run. Still has some way to go before being an accomplished central midfielder

Santi Cazorla: 7
Weaved his magic all day and continues an impressive form in contributing with either goals and assists. Our best outfield player by a long mile.

Danny Welbeck: 5
Wenger needs to make up his mind what plans he has for Welbeck as he does not seem up for a role away from the Number 9. Never really helped the flow of the forward play.

Alexis Sanchez: 5
Not a vintage display from the Chilean as he seemed to overplay it as he often does. Had to rotate too much and couldn’t pose a constant threat from any particular side.

Olivier Giroud: 6
Still the team’s best striker and will continue to be so.

Subs
Coquelin: 5
Monreal: 5
Campbell: 5
