West Ham have joined Arsenal in the race to sign Watford Striker Odion Ighalo, according to reports.
Arsenal were linked with a move to sign the Nigeria international and his strike partner Deeney in the last winter transfer window but Watford weren’t interested in losing any of their players in January.
Wenger has been monitoring the striker’s progress and has earmarked the Nigerian as one of his target this summer.
Wenger is reportedly in search of a striker to compete with Olivier Giroud next season and Ighalo is among a long list of strikers which includes Higuain and Benzema.
The Gunners are now set to face competition for the striker’s signature as Slaven Bilic has identified the striker as one that can improve his squad ahead of next season, according to the Sun via thisisfutbol.
The East Londoners have prioritized signing a striker this summer and has also been linked with a move to sign another Gunners target Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Ighalo is valued by Watford at a whopping £20m. The Nigerian international has 14 goals to his name this season, six short of his tally for the Hornets last season in the Championship. He has also provided three assists for his teammates this term.
