According to Guillem Balague, Arsenal must convince Luis Enrique of the project going forwards at the club if he is to replace Arsene Wenger.
The French manager will step down this summer after 22 years in charge of the helm of affairs at the Emirate Stadium.
And Enrique is said to be one of the frontrunners to succeed him at the Emirates.
“What they’re looking for is a ‘club’ person,” Balague explained on Sky Sports News.
“That is going to be very, very important and perhaps people may be a little bit unfazed by some of the names because they don’t seem to fit the thinking of the fans, they want the biggest names available, the one with the biggest number of titles and so on.
“But it may not be what Arsenal are looking for.
“In terms of Luis Enrique, they are interested and quite clearly they are not the only club interested in him.
“But he’s peculiar, he’s not one that you can convince by money, you have to convince him by project.
“But money will be important, he was one of the best paid managers in the world, he doesn’t want to change that that much.
“So it’s about the project, it’s about if he sees the possibility of winning straight away, that’s important because he won’t be one to be at a club for a long time.
“He won’t be one to be there longer than three years, perhaps wherever he goes.”
