Premier League rivals Chelsea and Manchester United could battle Arsenal for the signature of Antoinne Greizmann next summer, according to reports.
Arsenal were keen on the French striker in the summer transfer window but couldn’t sign him.
It was claimed that Wenger held talks with the player about the possibility of moving to the Emirates but was told by the striker that he is happy at Atletico.
The Gunners have been tipped to return for the striker’s services next summer but would now face competition from Premier League rivals.
According to the Telegraph, Manchester United and Chelsea are monitoring Greizmann’s situation at the Vincente Calderon and will make their move for the striker should they receive the signal that the player wants to change club.
Greizmann signed a new contract at Atletico Madrid in June with a release clause of €100m and Chelsea in particular are prepared to activate the clause. Manchester United who also spent close to £90m on Paul Pogba this summer will also have no problem meeting the clause.
Arsenal were willing to spend £70m on Greizmann this summer but it is unknown if the club would be prepared to go into a bidding war to sign the striker next year.
The interests in Greizmann is not surprising as the French man has developed into one of Europe’s best strikers since he joined Atletico Madrid in 2014.
