Manchester United legend Roy Keane believes Arsenal are too predictable in the Champions League and will not do well in the competition.
Arsenal have struggled in the competition since it reached the final in 2006 with a semi final appearance in 2009 it’s best till date.
In Wenger’s press conference before the match against PSG, the manager said he believes the club can challenge for the Champions League title this season but Keane believes that will not be possible until the manager changes the team’s approach.
“It’s a great point for them, but it’s the same old Arsenal,” Keane said on ITV Sport.
“A shocking performance. They will get out of the group, them and PSG, but the chances they gave up, they should have lost the game four or 5-0.
“As soon as they come up against a half-decent team, we’ve seen it over the years, we keep repeating it… Arsenal will struggle.
“We keep repeating it. They’ll get out of this group, but when they play a decent team in Europe, they’ll get knocked out, and we’ll be saying ‘What do Arsenal need to do?’
“It’s too early to judge on the players they’ve brought in, but we always have question marks about the sort of characters they have in the squad.”
The Champions League trophy is the only title Wenger has failed to win since he joined the club in 1996.
It is therefore one of the trophies high on his agenda this season. We might not have the best squad in Europe but the team can draw inspiration from Chelsea’s Champions League triumph in 2012.
With Hard work and Dedication, there is a possibility we can win the trophy come May next year.
