A silver lining has emerged for Premier League clubs in the pursuit of German International superstar, Marco Reus, with reports according to Daily Star of preparations as being already underway at Dortmund for his possible replacement.
Reus, 25, is easily one of the most sought-after forwards in Europe after consistently proving over time his status as one of the elite players in the world. Following the rate at which the other stars of Jurgen Klopp’s teams over the years have been allowed to leave the club, Reus is believed to be finally ready to move, with the Premier League his most preferred destination.
Klopp seems already resigned to losing his kingpin and is reportedly setting his sights on AC Milan youngster, Stephan El Shaarawy as Reus replacement, just as he replaced Mario Goetze with Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Ciro Immobile for Robert Lewandowski.
This will create renewed hopes amongst the trio of interested Premier League clubs, United, Liverpool and Arsenal. Chelsea boss, Jose Mourinho has openly ruled out a move for the Bundesliga Player of the Year, hence living the battle to the red-stripped clubs to snatch him from the adulation of the Yellow Wall at the Westfalenstadion.
Marco Reus basically is all you want to sign in a modern player. He is one of those headed for the very zenith of the superstars league of elite stars in the coming years, despite Ronaldo and Messi’s refusal to hibernate. He is the biggest player in the Dortmund team, having witnessed the exodus of the likes of Mario Goetze and Robert Lewandowski to pastures anew. His refusal to sign an improved deal to keep him at the Westfalenstadion is an indication that he wishes to join the elite and spring himself to the very height he expects to reach. Bayern are sure to be snooping around for Dortmund to let them have him, as they ponder replacements for Franck Ribery, but Arsenal must not let that happen. We can’t simply just give him up.
Reus loves the kind of football we play, meaning the only team he’ll probably choose over us is Barcelona. Seeing the Catalans are not in the running for his services, there is nothing in our way from offering the £20m in his release clause, as well as stuffing him with £180,000 every week. There’s not a team in Europe who can rely on one star to lead them through to glory and seeing we’re wholly hinged on Alexis at the moment, we’ll be much better with an even better player who can create stuff from deeper positions.
United will surely not hesitate to offer a huge amount for him even beyond £20m while Liverpool are in dire need of some kind of inspiration and will be making a statement of their own. Leaving us with all to do if we are indeed serious about landing the high spec German.
