Man Utd, Liverpool & Arsenal Dealt Transfer Blow In Pursuit Of Bundesliga Star. Not Reus

The hopes of the Premier League’s big clubs to sign Germany World Cup youngster, Christopher Kramer, have been dealt a noteworthy blow as the player already appears to have an agreement with an Italian club.

The 23 year old who featured in the World Cup final for Germany due to the injury suffered by Sami Khedira in the warm up is one of the many defensive midfielders linked with a move to one of Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal in the January window as they look to procure strong options to supplement the personnel available to them.

Kramer had an impressive showing with Ozil and co at Brazil though he suffered a concussion in that final against Argentina, having to be replaced early in the first half. He has, however, not made the consequent follow up in sustaining the confidence and glory gained to cement a spot in his BundesLiga team Bayern Leverkusen, being currently a loan spell at Borussia Monchengladbach. This situation had presented Arsenal with the opportunity to swoop for him in January but his agent’s revelation reveal that any possible of that happening is on the lower scale, as ex-Liverpool boss’ Rafa Benitez has acquired a privilege of being the first to be informed of the player’s situation.

“For the moment, he is very happy and settled in Germany. If things changed, Napoli would be one of the first clubs to be informed.” Kramer’s agent, Emmanuele Marchetti said.

Kramer is the third German defensive midfielder to be linked with a likely switch to the Emirates over the past few months, with Real Madrid’s Sami Khedira still on the horizon while talk on Borussia Dortmund’s Lars Bender has somewhat cooled. While the other two surpass him in experience, Kramer had shown encouraging signs of a maturing force in that role during the fiesta in Brazil while his physical attributes make him most suited to that role.

Liverpool will be hoping that their former manager will be not so interested in the player so as to give them the chance to make a move for him. However, considering that one of their summer acquisitions was a defensive midfield man in the person of German youth International Emre Can, there are reasons to believe that the main rivals to the Gunners in England for Kramer would be Manchester United. Louis van Gaal’s pursuit of Arturo Vidal and Kevin Strootman have simmered with the return to action of Michael Carrick but continuous injuries to the Arsenal midfield with Mikel Arteta set to be out for a few weeks  with a hamstring strain, there is no doubt Wenger will be the one looking to see Benitez not overly interested in Kramer.
