Arsenal new boy Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was put through paces in his first Arsenal training session yesterday but Arsene Wenger has revealed that the Gabonese international is suffering from illness, which may put forward his anticipated debut for the Gunners.

Auba became Arsenal;s record signing in a £56million deal from Borrussia Dortmund on transfer deadline day but he has been training alone at Arsenal’s London Colney training ground, in a bid to gain full fitness.

Aubameyang featured for Dortmund against Freiburg last weekend but his last game before then was on the 16th of December. The 28-year-old star is unfit and he’s unlikely to feature against Everton for Arsenal in a Premier League encounter this week.

Barring his fitness issues, the prolific scorer is currently ill and will be subjected to medical checks by the Gunners medical team before the game against the Toffees.

The Fans of Arsenal are eager to see Auba lace his boots for their team but Arsene Wenger delivered the unpleasant news of his unfitness when quizzed by newsmen.

‘He started [training] yesterday but wasn’t completely well. ‘I will see with the medical department.’

Aubameyang was signed a replacement for Alexis Sanchez and while the Gunners have conceded lots of goals, the strikers have also failed to score but with Aubameyang in attack, the Gunners are expected to bounce back to form.

Wenger further revealed that with Auba, Arsenal will score goals.

‘He is a typical striker with great pace and a good ratio between games played and goals scored,’ Wenger said.

‘He is a team player. ‘We lost some goals because we lost [Alexis] Sanchez, [Olivier] Giroud and [Theo] Walcott who were our goalscorers.’

Arsenal are currently wallowing in sixth position on the Premier League log but there is some glimmer of hope that they will end in top four given the new signings made.
