Arsenal have seen a £27m bid for Lucas Moura rejected by PSG, according to reports.
Last week, reports in Brazil claimed PSG could sell Moura this summer to offset their financial books after landing Neymar for €222m and Arsenal were immediately linked with the winger.
UOL Esporte via the Daily Cannon are now claiming Arsenal made a bid to sign Moura but was rejected.
However, the report reckons Arseanl could still sign Moura before the end of the transfer window.
It is claimed Moura would be the player to suffer the impact of Neymar’s arrival at the Parc de Princes, as his game time will be drastically reduced.
If you consider the fact that Moura hasn’t been able to command a regular place in PSG’s starting xi over the years, you will agree that he is the likeliest to leave.
Should that be the case, Moura will be a decent alternative to Thomas Lemar who Arsenal have been trying to sign.
Why a £27m bid was rejected is beyond my knowledge. It’s either the French club isn’t willing to sell the attacker or they are trying to squeeze more money from us because they know fully well that Premier League clubs are financially stable.
Should it be any of the above reasons, I think Arsenal shouldn’t bother chasing the winger’s signature. £27m is a fair deal and if a transfer is happening, it should happen at that price, nothing more.
