Arsenal have been handed a massive double fitness boost ahead of Saturday’s game against Everton.

The Gunners go into the game at the Emirates sitting eight points adrift of the Champions League places after Tuesday night’s abject 3-1 defeat at struggling Swansea City.

However, there were fears that new signing Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang would miss out due to illness along with Jack Wilshere.

Speaking on Friday morning, Arsene Wenger said: “We have Jack who was sick. I still have to assess him today. I hope he will be capable of being in the squad. He’s better. He’ll train with the team today and we’ll see how he feels.

“Aubameyang was sick as well so we have to assess him today.”

But both players took a full part in today’s training session at London Colney so should be included in the squad for Saturday’s game.
