Gonzalo Higuain, Napoli’s Argentine striker has reportedly asked for an exit from the club, putting Arsenal on alert.
Reports have it that Arsenal are keeping abreast of his situation at Napoli as the 27-year-old player has been a long-term target of Arsene Wenger.
Napoli, however, are reluctant to sell their priced asset having set a release clause at £66million, they have also insisted that any club interested in his services will have to pay the full price to sign him.
Reports state that the Argentine has made his intention to leave the club known as he is reportedly unhappy with life at the club.
The striker who has scored 35 goals in 69 appearances for the Naples club is not comfortable with the club losing out of Champions league this season and Rafa Benitez leaving for Real Madrid, the forward now reportedly wants out.
Arsenal are now in desperate need of a top quality striker after their abysmal showing against West Ham on Sunday, and with Higuain actively pushing for a move, his price will be dropped substantially.
