Liverpool have joined Arsenal in the race to sign Jean-Michel Seri, according to reports.
Arsenal have been linked with Seri in recent weeks and it is being claimed, Wenger will make a move for the midfielder after Nice’s involvement in Uefa Champions League playoffs.
Barcelona and Paris Saint Germain were also linked with the midfielder recently but both clubs have pulled out of the race for his signature. The Spaniards were reluctant to pay his €40m release clause and instead signed Spurs flop Paulinho while PSG have abandoned the chase to focus on other targets.
However, Arsenal now have a new competitor for the midfielder.
According to the Guardian via the Metro, Liverpool have made contact with Nice to enquire about Seri’s availability.
Nice are reluctant to sell the midfielder and have already made it known to interested club that they would have to activate his €40m release clause.
Should both Arsenal and Liverpool activate Seri’s clause, the player will now have to make a decision on which club to join.
Seri is currently drawing plaudits from every corner of the footballing world after his superb performances last season and he will be a great asset for our club.
