Barcelona and Liverpool are set to join Arsenal in the race to sign Thomas Lemar, according to reports.
Arsenal are currently in negotiations with Monaco over the transfer of the talented midfielder but could now face competition from two of Europe’s top clubs.
Wenger is desperate to sign Lemar, after identifying him as his priority target but Monaco are reluctant to sell and have already rejected two bids for the 21 year old.
While talks with Monaco continue over the winger, Arsenal are set to face more difficulty in its attempt to sign the winger as other clubs join the race for the French man.
According to L’Equipe via the Daily Star, Barcelona are considering making a move for Lemar as they search for a replacement for Neymar who joined PSG last week.
Liverpool and Manchester City are also being linked with the winger but it is Barcelona who are expected to provide the stiffest competition.
Lemar who few days ago was reportedly keen on a move to Arsenal is now open to a move to Barcelona but he is waiting for them to make an official bid before making his decision to join them.
Liverpool are said to be considering the winger as a replacement for Coutinho who is being linked with a move to Barcelona.
As if Monaco’s hard-ball stance isn’t enough, facing stiff competition for our top target would be bad news for Wenger. There is not a lot we can do at the moment except trying to reach an agreement with Monaco and convincing the player to snub the advances of other clubs.
