Mesut Ozil has revealed that he is working on improving his non verbal behaviour when he is on the pitch.
The 27 year old has occasionally come under criticism from fans on social media for his quiet style on the pitch and he is keen to improve that so the fans don’t think he gives up in games, according to Standard Sport.
Ozil is being linked with a move away from the Emirates with Spanish giants Barcelona reportedly interested in his services. It was even claimed by some media house that the midfielder has told the club he is prepared to leave this summer should Arsene Wenger remain as the club boss, a report which Ozil publicly denied.
The midfielder also publicly rejected rumours linking him with an exit this summer and he claims he is happy at the Emirates.
After clarifying his future is at the Emirates, Ozil is determined to win over his critics among the Gooners. Some fans claim the midfielder often goes hiding in big games and sometimes looks like his heart is not in the club but the German is keen to correct that notion.
“My goal is to make sure my body language is right.”
“When I make a mistake, I get annoyed and you can tell from my body language. But these days I try to make sure that I don’t do that anymore because in football you can make mistakes and play a bad pass.
“It is more for the fans, the people who watch the game, [rather than team-mates], because they might think that I’m not fighting anymore.”
