Southampton Legend Matt Le Tissier has backed his former club to sign Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, via HITC sport.
Southampton are seriously interested in resigning Oxlade Chamberlain at the end of the season, according to reports.
It had been reported that the midfielder is considering his situation at the Emirates with just two years left in his contract while Wenger is not convinced about the midfielder anymore.
Tissier has now urged the midfielder to make the move back to the club where he began his career claiming he will find the right conditions needed to kickstart his career that is said to have stalled.
“He’s a very good player,” he told the Mirror. “He’s obviously suffered with injuries in the last couple of seasons so he’s not really been a regular in that Arsenal side.
“If the boy wants to play regular first team football and be a first choice in the team then sure it’s realistic, it’s not like he’d be dropping down to the bottom half of the table.
“He could join a team that are challenging for European places. OK, it’s not the Champions League at the moment but we’ve certainly challenged for Europa League places over the past three seasons.”
The midfielder is currently battling with a knee injury and has also struggled for form this season and Southampton are prepared to give their former academy player the chance to return to the St Mary’s where he could be a main man in the team.
