Manchester United forward Henrikh Mkhitaryan has agreed to join Arsenal on the condition that the Gunners pay a transfer fee in the proposed Alexis Sanchez Swap deal, according to reports.

Alexis Sanchez is said to have agreed personal terms with Manchester United ahead of his proposed move but the Gunners have asked that Armenian forward Mkhi be added in the deal. While Man United appear to have acceded to the demand of Arsene Wenger’s men, Mkhi has refused to agree to the deal.

Pundits and fans have claimed that if Arsenal signs Pierre-Emerick Aubayemang, Mkhi will not hesistate to join the Gunners, but the agent of the star, Mino Raiola is singing a different tune. He has revealed that the 28-year former Borrussia Dortmund star wants Arsenal to pay a sign on fee.

Mkhi still has over two years left on his current Man United contract that is valued at £20m, and he would not just leave. Raiola suggested that the completion of the deals is exclusive dependent of Mkhi is not intimidated or bullied at the doings of United.

“United are not going to sign Sanchez unless Mkhi agrees to join Arsenal. He is going to do what is best for him. He has two-and-a-half years left on his contract, so it’s his decision.

“Sanchez is part of Mkhi’s deal. Not the other way around. Without him, Sanchez simply cannot go to United.”

Arsene Wenger is very well known to be frugal in the transfer window and he might allow this drag until the deadline day of the window. The Gunners are currently in disarray and there are so many players that will not want a move to the club following their horrendous lack of ambition.

If it means paying, Arsenal should do so – after selling Walcott and Coquelin, we have some cash to spare. But Wenger knows it all…
