AS Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev has declared that The Gunners target Thomas Lemar is remaining at the Stade Louis II this summer.
Arsene Wenger is believed to have made Lemar one of his top transfer targets after the signing of Alexandre Lacazette. However the North Londoners have seen offers of £30m, £40m and £45m rejected already.
The Premier League side were reportedly still hopeful of finalised a contract for the 21-year-old. However, Vasilyev has ruled out the chance of selling the youngster.
“We have kept all of the key players that we intended to keep; I will address speculation relating to the case of Lemar. He is staying with us. He is an immense talent and is essential for the team.” – he told journalists.
Vasilyev also revealed that the club have entered talks with in-demand winger Kylian Mbappe over a new deal.
Meanwhile, Celtic head coach Brendan Rodgers has claimed that there are no indications of Moussa Dembele being sold ahead of the new campaign.
After scoring 32 goals in his first year in Glasgow, Dembele is drawing interest from all over Europe, and it has been suggested that Marseille are keen on landing the French prospect.
But, while Rodgers has hinted that there will be an amicable solution over the footballer’s future, he does not expect the 21-year-old to leave the club at any time soon.
“There’s nothing in it from our perspective. He’s a boy that’s very calm. And like I said, a young player still developing, I think there’ll be a natural solution to it all. I think there’ll be something at some point in his career here where there’s an offer that, for both parties, is a sensible one, but it’s certainly nowhere near that for us at this moment in time.” – Sky Sports News quotes Rodgers as saying.
Chelsea, Everton, Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund have all been said to be interested in the footballer since the end of the most recent season.
