Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata still wants to join Arsenal, according to reports.
Earlier in the summer, the Spanish striker was linked with a move to the Emirates and it appears he is still holding out for a move to the club.
The striker’s buy back clause was activated by Real Madrid in June and it was thought he would be sold immediately to the Premier League for a higher fee.
Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea were the Premier League clubs linked with the striker but all were left disappointed when Madrid opted against selling the striker.
According to Spanish Publication El Confidencial via the Daily Star, Morata is still interested in a move to Arsenal.
The report claims Arsene Wenger is the manager that “dazzles” the 23 year old and he would jump at the chance of working with the French tactician.
Wenger is in search of a striker and has been working actively to sign one but is yet to be successful.
The French tactician held serious interest in Morata before but had to turn to other targets after Real Madrid named their price.
Madrid are reluctant to sell the striker for anything less than £67m and have already turned down two mega bids from Chelsea which fell short of their valuation.
Arsenal are currently working on a deal to sign Olympic Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette. The club have had a £29.5m bid rejected for Lacazette’s services already but are planning to return with an improved offer of £35m.
