Sky Sports are claiming Arsenal have completed talks with KAS Eupen over the services of Nigeria striker Henry Onyekuru with news of a deal done and announced imminent.
The Gunners are widely known for signing football’s best talents and then help them develop into top footballers. The likes of Cesc Fabregas, Jack Wilshere and Hector Bellerin are all beneficiaries of the club’s world class academy coaching.
And now the club is keen to add Nigeria youngster Onyekuru to that illustrous list. The 19 year old has been in fine form this season, notching 20 goals already which has led to serious interest from Premier League clubs.
Arsenal have now moved ahead of Everton, Southampton and West Brom in the race to sign the striker.
Talks between both clubs are in progress and an agreement could be reached before the start of the summer transfer window.
The player is reportedly keen to test himself in the Premier League and had publicly declared his interest in moving to England. Arsenal are now in pole position to make his dream come true this summer.
He is not expected to cost much as he has a £6.8m release clause on his contract, which only needs to be activated. That would be a bargain fee considering the striker’s huge potential.
