Arsenal defender Krystian Bielik joined Walsall on loan this January on transfer deadline day after spending a portion of last season with Championship side Birmingham.
The 20-year-old made 10 appearances at St Andrew’s in the second half of the 2016-17 campaign to aid Birmingham’s successful fight against the drop.
The 20-year-old defender has already picked up a ‘slight niggle’ after moving to League One side Walsall on transfer deadline day.
As a result, manager Jon Whitney has decided not to risk the 20-year-old for the Saddlers’ six-pointer against MK Dons on Saturday.
“We have to take time – you look at how many games they’ve played,” said Whitney, reports Express & Star.
“I know that Krystian has got a slight niggle, we knew that.
“Whether he is right for the weekend, I’m unsure. But I’m not going to risk him as we need him for the remainder of the season. I’ll speak to them all individually and we’ll see.
“Some may start, some may not. Some may be on the bench, some may not be.
“It’s going to be an interesting one but I’m sure the team we put out will be a strong team.”
