Newcastle vs Arsenal: Player Ratings & MOTM, FOTM.

Ospina: 7

Made crucial saves to keep the team’s advantage. He is going to retain his place as Arsenal’s first choice goalkeeper for a long time to come if he continue with such performances.

Chambers: 6

Good game from Chambers, though not enough to oust Bellerin from Arsenal’s starting xi. The later clearly remains a better right back option.

Gabriel: 7.5

Showed why he is in line for a first Brazilian cap. Good signs of a good partnership with Koscielny.

Koscielny: 8

Outstanding performance from Koscielny. Getting the armband the final 15 minutes showed Wenger does have some leaders actually.

Monreal: 7

Another great performance from the Monreal we’ve become used to appreciating. Might have done better with his positioning in the lead up to Sissoko’s goal.

Coquelin:  7

The Frenchman was a suspect with his passes, but remained as bullish as ever in his tackles. Played through another bleeding nose.

Ramsey: 5 (FOTM)

Disappointing performance from the Welshman, especially as he should have been fresher than some of his teammates who had played more in Monte Carlo.

Cazorla: 7

Two good deliveries for the two goals from the captain of the day. Another great performance from Santi Cazorla.

Alexis: 6

Not his worst game, but still far from his best. Wenger must be thinking what he would do for the Chilean not to be involved in the International break.

Welbeck: 6.5

He is still learning how to play the Arsenal way. He needs to work more with his team mates rather than making solo runs and then ending up been dispossessed by the opponents.

Giroud:  8.5 (MOTM)

The Frenchman can’t stop scoring. It’s now 13 League goals since his return a few months ago. Another man of the match performance from Giroud.

Bellerin: 5.5

He could have laid on an assist for the third goal.

Rosicky/Flamini: N/A.
