According to reports, Tottenham have joined the battle for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

The Daily Star says Chelsea and Arsenal have both been keeping tabs on Mkhitaryan, but they now face competition from rivals Tottenham.

Mauricio Pochettino is keen to add to his attacking options in the transfer window as he looks to build a team capable of competing in the Champions League.

Mkhitaryan is under contract until 2017 and it doesn’t look like he plans to extend his stay in Germany after rejecting a new contract offer from BVB.

Earlier today his agent Mino Raiola said: “Why would we sign a contract renewal now?

“Micki has a contract until June 2017 and we are looking at his options for the future.”

Spurs who? Come on, that’s utter nonsense! Unless, for some reason it turns out that Mkhtaryan has gone crazy. But the Mkhitaryan I know, just can’t leave BVB, for of all clubs, TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR!!!!!!!!! Why would he go there? Huge salary? They can only offer no more than £100,000, which I here they offered Kane to ‘fend off’ United! Titles? Well, they will have to first dethrone Arsenal, something they haven’t managed to do in decades, and, until they do that, Arsenal will always stand better chances of winning titles, no doubt. Glamour? Arsenal will always be the more glamorous. Champions League football? That is the minimum requirement at Arsenal, Spurs’? Finishing above Arsenal, no matter where Arsenal finish. That sums it up, doesnt it?

The bottom line is, unless Arsenal don’t want a player, only then can Spurs get them. Period.
