Arsenal have officially confirmed the transfer of winger Serge Gnabry to West Brom on a season long loan.
The German forward recently recovered from a lengthy spell on the sidelines to play the latter end of last season for the Arsenal U21 side, and also represented Germany in the Euro U21 European Championship this summer.
The 20-year-old had an impressive 2013/2014 campaign making his debut after joining from Stuttgart in 2011, and going on to make 14 appearances, netting his first senior goal for the club against Swansea in the process before a long term injury halted his rise.
But now with his full recovery, he has been sent out on loan to get accustomed to the Premier league and to get more first-team experience.
Manager Arsene Wenger told the club’s official website “We know Serge is ready to play in the Premier League, but we know as well that what is needed for him is to get 25 to 30 games to show that he can produce it on a regular basis and cope with it physically.”
And the player expressed his delight at the move after signing for West Brom “I’m very delighted by the move,” Gnabry, told the Albion website.
“I see the opportunity that I can play, it’s a good club and I’ve heard good things. I’m very happy that I’ve signed here.
“I’ve got good impressions and I feel it’s a good environment for me to play and also develop as a player.”
West Brom manager Tony Pulis after making his fourth addition of the summer said “We’re delighted to add Serge to our options. He is a top player and he will bring us quality in certain areas of the pitch.”
