According to reports, Arsenal chances of signing Alexander Lacazette has been boosted as Lyon are closing in on the signing of Bertrand Traore from Chelsea.
L’Equipe reports that the 21-year-old has given his agreement to join Lyon this summer and has agreed personal terms with the club.
This was confirmed by Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas who revealed that talks are at an advanced stage with Chelsea about signing Traore.
“We want to bring Bertrand Traore, there are advanced contacts but many clubs are interested,” Aulas told reporters at the unveiling of Brazilian full-back Fernando Marcal on Friday.
Despite his progress, the Burkina Faso international has been found surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge and looks set to fill the void that is likely to be left by Lacazette’s impending departure to Arsenal.
‘We want to bring Bertrand Traore to the club,’ said Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas.
‘There are advanced talks there, but many clubs are interested. We absolutely want to do the deal.’
Traore, 21, spent last season on loan at Ajax where he scored 16 goals in 32 games and helped the Eredivisie club to the final of the Europa League.
