Arsenal have officially confirmed a deal for highly versatile star.
Arsenal made this statement via the club’s official website to announce that Scotland international star Emma Mitchell has committed her future to the club.
Mitchell signed for Arsenal in July 2013 after only joining Frauen-Bundesliga side Essen in January – which was her first professional contract.
The 22-year-old star is highly versatile and can play in just about anywhere on the pitch – as a striker, defender and even as a midfielder.
Mitchell made her debut with the senior Scottish national team against France in May 2011, after captaining both the national Under-17 and Under-19 teams.
While at Glasgow City, Mitchell scored an astonishing 38 goals in 35 appearances for the Scottish side, and has established herself as a key part of the Arsenal side since her arrival in the summer of 2013.
Mitchell signed a new deal at the club along with fellow teammates Emma Byrne, Alex Scott and Casey Stoney.
Ladies manager Pedro Martinez Losa said: “Emma Byrne, Emma Mitchell, Alex and Casey are all key players for our team and we are delighted they have decided to commit their futures to the club. They bring fantastic experience and a winning mentality to the squad and it is important for us to keep players of their quality.”
