Enough has been said about the future of Arsenal’s German World Cup winning star Lukas Podolski on his said willingness to walk out the Emirates door in January if his situation does not change on the pitch.
It is no news as the player himself has come out publicly, reiterating his displeasure on having to warm the bench this season having only made a solo start this campaign being the League cup loss against Southampton.
Although many fans feel the “avid social media network” star has been unfairly treated by Arsenal manager; Arsenal Wenger. Why some others feel his days as a top priority player for Arsenal are over as the club are looking for players ready to deliver on a regular rather than Podolski’s said wastefulness in front of goal and his inability to track back and support the defence when the ball is with the opposition team.
Podolski also has his case to argue after putting up fine performances towards the end of last season, going almost 3 games with a brace each to cap it off.
In the summer, the 29-year-old was subject to a move away from the club with several clubs on alert with the intentions of snapping up the former Bayern Munich star. However following injuries to Olivier Giroud it seemed Poldi finally had the chance to get enough game time. But his joy was cut short with the transfer deadline day signing of Danny Welbeck from Manchester United.
This has left Podolski somewhat in a limbo and he has since grown frustrated at the situation of things currently at the Emirates.
Aside Poldi publicly stating that “he’s tired of sitting on the bench”, he has never failed to support the team taking to his official account on popular social media outlets to proclaim his love for the club.
His recent picture post on Instagram has left many wondering what exactly he meant and also the rather bittersweet comment which followed.
Does This Mean Podolski Will Remain At Arsenal After-all?
For 2.5 years now I’ve lived & played in London, I like this great City. #londonisred #thebigsmoke #London #Poldi #aha
