Arsenal have terminated the contract of Mathieu Debuchy in order to pave the way for him to complete a deadline day move to Ligue 1 side Saint Etienne.
Striker Chuba Akpom has also left the club on a six-month loan deal, joining Belgian top flight club Sint-Truidense.
Debuchy has been a peripheral figure for much of his time at Arsenal with his arrival from Newcastle United preceding the emergence of Hector Bellerin as first-choice right-back.
The 32-year-old, who cost £12m to sign three-and-a-half years ago, departs the Emirates having made only 29 appearances, meaning he has cost Arsenal £410,000-per-game on average.
He has come in handy for Arsene Wenger during the Europa League group stages this season and started four of their six games, earning a clean sheet in each one and scoring a goal against BATE Borisov.
