Paris Saint German have reportedly jumped ahead of Arsenal in the race to sign West Ham star Dimitri Payet.
Payet’s future has been up in the air in recent months following West Ham’s dismal start to the current campaign.
The French international who proved to be West Ham’s inspiration last season as he helped them finish seventh last term has failed to prevent his team from struggling this year.
West Ham and Payet have both struggled to hit the heights of last season as they sit just one point above the relegation zone after fourteen games.
Obviously, the French man is not in his best form, his quality is undoubted and top clubs are already queuing up to sign him in January.
Recently, The Sun claimed Wenger is keen to sign the winger in the new year and will table an official bid if West Ham struggles continue.
According to The Express, Paris Saint Germain are now leading the race to sign the playmaker.
The report claims Payet is open to leaving West Ham in January as his club continues to struggle and PSG have opened talks to sign him.
Manchester United and Arsenal are also being linked with the winger but the report claims PSG are confident of beating the PL duo to the his signature.
The French club are prepared to pay more than £30m to sign the French man and are willing to go head to head with the wealthy Premier League clubs.
However, I don’t think West Ham will fold their hands and watch Payet leave in the middle of crisis and knowing they’ll be better off keeping their best player, I expect them to hold on to him at least until the end of the season.
