Reports claim the Gunners are lining up a deal to bring the highly-rated attacking midfielder Andrija Zivkovic to the Emirates.

Portuguese media reported Arsenal watched Zivkovic before he moved to Benfica from Partizan Belgrade sent scouts to run the rule over the 21-year-old at the European U21 championship in Poland last summer.

The Sun claims officials are believed to have tracked his progress ahead of a possible summer move along with other recruits to mount a title bid next season.

Portuguese publication O Jogo claim that both Arsenal and Manchester United were in attendance for the match over the weekend.

They suggest the clubs’ representatives will have been impressed with Zivkovic, who played in a more central role despite usually operating on the wing. Reports suggest Zivkovic has a £52.5million release clause.
