Juventus are set to beat Arsenal to the signing of Real Madrid playmaker Isco this summer according to reports.
The Gunners have been linked with a move to sign the former La Liga midfielder since last summer and speculations were strong in January that Wenger could make a move for the 23 year old in the winter transfer window.
Although a move didn’t materialize in the winter transfer window, it is believed Wenger is still monitoring the midfielder’s situation.
And now the club is set to be disappointed as Italian giants Juventus have made Isco their top priority in the summer transfer window and are prepared to pay as much as £39m for his services, according to Tuttosport via the Daily Star.
It is believed that Real Madrid are prepared to let the midfielder go after failing to nail down a regular spot in the squad and Juventus will fund the transfer by selling Paul Pogba who is valued at about £80m.
Wenger has now been urged by the club board to spend big in the summer transfer window and the French man may not want to give up without a fight.
Isco has made 33 appearances in all competitions this season with four goals to his name, a poor return for a player of his calibre.
