Arsenal are interested in signing Juventus midfielder Mario Lemina in the January transfer window, according to reports.
There were reports linking the midfielder with a move to the Emirates in the summer transfer window, some even claimed we had a bid rejected for the Gabonese international who Wenger is a big fan of.
Lemina has become a key figure in Juventus’ first team this season, the exit of Paul Pogba and injury to Claudio Marchisio gave him the opportunity to stake a claim in Juventus first team. He has taken the opportunity well and has played a key role in his club’s games so far.
His performances have attracted our attention again and according to Italian newspaper Calcio Mercato via the Sport Witness, our scouts have watched the midfielder on numerous occasions this season.
The season is still in its early stages and for our scouts to have monitored a player on more than one ccasion, it shows that we hold a concrete interest in the player.
The midfielder is reportedly valued at over €20m, which shouldn’t be difficult for us to pay if we decide to step up our interest.
Leicester City and Shalke 04 are also rumoured to be interested in the midfielder but beating the duo to his signature shouldn’t be a problem also.
We currently have a lot of options at the midde, so I don’t expect a move for Lemina to happen soon. However, should he continue to impress in Turin, we could be forced to make a move earlier than planned.
