Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil wants to return to Real Madrid in the future, according to reports.

The playmaker who has less than two years left in his current contract is in talks with Arsenal over a new deal. Although, both parties are close to reaching an agreement on the deal, German news tabloid Sports Bild via the Daily Star is claiming the player still wants to join Real Madrid in the future.

Arsenal signed the playmaker from  Real in 2013 for about £42.5m and the player believes he has unfinished business at the Bernabeu.

The report also claimed that the new deal Ozil is about to sign at Arsenal was made by his head rather than his heart. That is not to say the player is not happy at the Emirates but his heart is still at Madrid and only agreed to sign a new contract at Arsenal because there are no other attractive offers on the table.

Ozil signing a new contract at Arsenal is good news for the fans as the club will be in a strong position to keep him at the Emirates for the foreseeable future. The new contract is expected to last until 2020.

The midfielder is regarded as the creator-in-chief at Arsenal and is one of the key players at the club, thereby making keeping him a top priority.
