Arsenal will have to pay more than £400,000 a week to get Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil to extend their current contracts, according to reports.
The two players are into the penultimate year of their contract already and Arsenal have been in talks with them over a contract extension since August but no deal has been signed and it appears an agreement with either of the players is not even close.
Hector Bellerin signed a new six and a half year deal on Monday despite opening talks on a new contract less than a month ago. This has got many Arsenal fans wondering why the deal to extend Ozil and Sanchez’s contract is taking too long.
London Evening Standard via the Daily Express has now thrown more light on happenings regarding the duo’s contract extension. The report claims the players are demanding over £200,000 a week to sign fresh terms.
Sanchez is currently earning around £130,000 weekly while Ozil is on £140,000 a week and Arsenal are unwilling to match their demands.
However, we remain confident that we’ll get the duo to sign new contracts. It is only going to be a matter of time and both parties will iron out their differences.
Sanchez and Ozil are very important players for us and it is imperative we get them to sign new deals, irrespective of what it will cost.
