Revealed – The Defensive Midfielder That Will Solve Arsenal’s Problem

Merson, Wright, Keown, Parlour… There is an emergency at the Emirates and everyone who loves the Arsenal Football Club has a right to speak up to save the situation and with the continuous inability of any one of our defensive midfielders to stand up and be counted, Gunners Legend Perry Groves is making a suggestion which should be seriously considered – Monaco’s Geoffrey Kondogbia.

The 21 year old midfielder was a star of the France Under-20 team made up of the likes of Paul Pogba and Yaya Sanogo going on to become European Champions at that level a couple of years ago. The big strong midfielder, who has been likened to ex-captain Patrick Viera, was certain to leave Sevilla at the time, with the Gunners even linked at the time. Wenger passing up that opportunity meant that big spenders Monaco could entice him to be closer home, but with nothing concrete done since to strengthen that position, Groves is persuaded that Wenger need look no further in his search.

Groves was quoted by Express as saying said, “They need a center half. They are short in that position”.

“They also need a physically imposing holding midfield player as they have many technically gifted players going forward but they don’t have many players that think defensively.”

“There is a lad at Monaco called Geoffrey Kondogbia who is very similar to Patrick Viera and he played at the Emirates Cup”

“Arsenal need someone who can help in the transition from defence to attack. It would take a lot of money to get him, but he’s physically imposing and he would be the perfect buy.”

Groves has been one of the relentless ex-Gunners who have bemoaned the lack of leadership and at Arsenal and having been part of a one of the most recent successful Arsenal teams of the George Graham era, he sure does know where it pains when he makes his complaints.

While Merson complains about tactics and Wright hoping Alexis doesn’t jump ship even before the tides started turning, Groves is offering Wenger what must be a very decent player who has been tipped for great success, even beyond the shoes of Viera. Though with just one senior Les Blues cap, Kondogbia is likely to be Pogba’s midfield partner for France in years to come and seeing Monaco are struggling to get a foothold in announcing themselves as a top team on the continent, it won’t be long before some top club out there ask for his services, like Madrid did with James Rodriguez.

Arsenal’s need for a defensive midfield is like the world’s need to get rid of ebola. It is a deadly canker that will only spread if not curtailed at, like Groves said, it could cost a huge lot to get him.

If it,s going to cost a lot of money then we might as well forget it .Arsene will not spend too much in January.

Kondogbia would be marvelous. Sadly we would never get him for below 30m EUR, and we are getting only GBP20m for January.
However, any number of quick 6 foot plus box to box midfielders would do us good. Their prices would span from GBP7m to 15m.

Unfortunately i doubt if Wenger’s new philosophy allows for it, he believes everyone should defend and everyone should attack. Meanwhile even the most incurably offensive football teams like Bayern and Barca have dedicated fleet footed and physical players in the middle of the park, who play virtually every grade A game for them.

Hope he learns his lesson before the end of January, if not we would be lucky to make the Europa league places.

I think the reason why the earlier came to nothing before, is due to 3rd party ownership? If that hasn’t changed, it will not happen in January either.
