Arsene Wenger earlier before the transfer window openly indicated that the Gunners would be very busy in the transfer market and it seems the Gaffer is true to his words as Arsenal have completed the signing of Mohamed Elneny from Basel in Switzerland and are set to place a bid worth £18.5 Million for Manchester United and Liverpool transfer target; Sofiane Boufal in the January transfer window.
The Red Devils and Liverpool were reportedly keen on the talented player but it is the Gunners who are reportedly going ahead to place a bid of £18.5 to lure the player to the Emirates ahead of their Premier League rivals.
The 22 Year Old Moroccan international has been in fine form so far this season, scoring 5 goals in 15 matches for Lille. The Gunners only signed Petr Cech last summer and are willing to add more out-field players to his squad as they chase a first Premier League crown in almost 12 years.
The need to sign more outfield players arose due to the lengthy list of injured players in the Gunners rank. Despite the lengthy list of injuries; the Gunners sit top of the Premier League Log and Wenger doesn’t want to take chances in their quest to be champions come the end of the league season.
Boufal would be a valuable addition to the squad but Arsenal knows that they face stiff competition for the youngster’s signature as Liverpool and Manchester United are also interested in beefing up their squad for the second phase of the league.
