Arsenal and Juventus are keen on signing Alexis Sanchez, this is according to former Arsenal midfielder Adrian Clarke.
The Serie A duo are admirers of the forward and are both monitoring his situation at the Emirates.
Sanchez currently has less than 18 months left in his Arsenal contract and talks to extend his deal has been unsuccessful. It is claimed the player wants a huge increase to his current deal but Arsenal are reluctant to pay what he is demanding.
And Clarke who works as an analyst for the Gunners’ official video channel Arsenal Player has revealed that Milan and Juventus are keen on the forward.
“I think Alexis has been the player of the season so far hands down,” he told talkSPORT, as quoted by the Daily Star.
“They (Juventus and AC Milan) want him. It’s understandable they want him.
The former Gunner also revealed that it is the uncertainty surrounding Wenger’s future that is holding up the forward’s contract renewal.
“I want Alexis to make his mind up sooner rather than later. The issue is the manager situation.
“If everyone knows Arsene Wenger’s intentions going forward then things can be sorted.”
Arsenal are hoping to convince the forward to sign a deal worth less than what he has demanded and talks with his camp will continue before the season ends.
Wenger has a key role to play in this, as it appears that it is the uncertainty surrounding his future that is keeping the forward from signing a new deal. Once Wenger’s future is sorted, then Sanchez’s and others will follow.
